Planting with Kids

For the last couple years, when I have seed packs that have just a few seeds left in them, I let the kids plant some little pots.  We have a fun time doing it and if they grow, we can transplant them and the kids love it.  I also love spending time with them.  I wish I had some pictures of us actually planting, but I was up to my elbows in potting soil and we were just having a good time.

I just let them pull out any of the little pots/containers they wanted out of the greenhouse, let them pick the seeds they want to plant and then they label the side of the pots.  Since I am letting them use my leftovers, I don't feel the need to make sure they are doing every little thing right and it takes a little pressure off and lets us have some fun :)

I really hope that most of these pop up. It keeps the kids interested as long as they see progress and they can follow the cycle from garden to table :)
